Surround Sound is our version of small groups for young people ages 12 to 25. We know that in the book of Acts “they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” (Acts 2:48 KJV) From 6:30pm – 7:00pm we have prayer. From 7:00pm – 7:15pm we will generally have snacks and an ice breaker to get everyone comfy and ready to discuss. Then from 7:15pm – 8:15pm not only will we study and discuss the Apostles’ doctrine, but also other things in the Bible, such as people’s lives and many other Bible topics. We don’t just stop at Biblical things, we discuss and figure out ways to overcome everyday issues young people face, such as drugs, pornography, peer pressure, and so on. Surround Sound is not meant to be another youth activity throughout the week, but Surround Sound is also the engine behind the Image Student Ministries Inreach Team. In Surround Sound we have many groups and tools to reach out to the normal everyday young person.
Surround Sound and the Image Student Ministries Inreach Team join together to head up the Communication Crew, Bold Team, Greeting Team, Scheduling Team, and Follow-Up Team.
The Communication Crew communicates with nearly 200 young people on a weekly basis by simply calling, texting, emailing, Myspace comment, etc.
The Bold Team is designed to make every visitor at every event feel welcome. We simply hold a conversation with a visitor before and after the event, even if it means not talking to our friends first. Visitors want to feel welcome and that is the focus of each Bold Team member! A branch of the Bold Team is the Greeting Team.
The Greeting Team is designed to greet every person that walks through the door at any event with a friendly smile! We as greeters are one of the first impressions of the church. Our main focus as greeters is to make the person walking in the door feel welcome and like they belong!
The Scheduling Team is designed to keep the student ministry events fun and effective. They have various meetings to schedule activities for Surround Sound and Image Student Ministries. The focus for the Scheduling Team is to create cool events for all different types of people. We believe this is one of the keys to unity.
The Follow-Up Team is set up to follow-up with guest teachers and preachers, visitors, people with sicknesses, and anyone having a birthday. This team is not only working with the young people in the church, but also with the people that aren’t in a church. They play a very important role in the Inreach Team and in this student ministry.
Surround Sound and the Image Student Ministries Inreach Team are here to simply let each and every person know that not only does God love them, but we love them as well. We want to know how you are doing and if there is anything we can pray with you about. This was something Jesus focused on and we want to focus on it also.
“Developing disciples through SCMD.” Everything we do at Surround Sound revolves around these four purposes.
• S -- We will SHARE Christ with a dying world, making disciples of all nations - 1 Peter 2:9
• C -- We will CONNECT disciples into a leader directed small group - 2 Timothy 2:2
• M -- In small groups we will train disciples to MINISTER in the church, and in the world - Ephesians 4:11-12
• D -- We will release those who have been developed to DISCIPLE others - Matthew 28:19

Surround Sound is current teen life based Bible study where a group of young people can go to learn the power of God’s Word and relate it to their daily walk. It’s a place of acceptance and time of growth spiritually for individuals who love God and want to serve Christ united with other teens for a common purpose, where you develop a real relationship with Jesus and focus on the real truth to living your life fully.

Surround Sound is a group of young people who get together and discuss everyday problems that young people face. Not only is it a once a week thing, but we call around just to check up on each other. We watch videos on some of our biggest struggles and also give each person the opportunity to express their feelings and thoughts on situations we are faced with. We’re not there to judge and condemn anyone, our purpose is to encourage and pick up our peers who are being overwhelmed with the daily grind. Surround Sound is a group of people unifying and learning how to connect and become one with the people who go through the exact same problems.

Surround Sound is a scheduled gathering for people who want to learn. We hunger for the truth in God’s Word, because we feel that the more we know God, the closer to God we can be. We strive to break down the walls that keep us from the walk with God that He wants us to have.

Surround Sound has had an incredible impact on my life: not only has it helped me to understand more what I believe, but it has also helped me to stand for what I believe. When I first heard of Surround Sound I thought of a very boring atmosphere—quite the contrary. Surround Sound definitely lives up to its name: everyone has the opportunity to learn more because of the interactive environment and the discussions in Surround Sound affirm many of the things being taught in my home. Never have the teachings in this class contradicted the Word of God or the fundamental beliefs of our family. The definition of Surround is: to form or be a member of the entourage of… The Definition of Sound is: mechanical radiant energy that is transmitted by longitudinal pressure waves in a medium such as air and is the objective cause of hearing...
His word says in John 1:1-3 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made...” God IS the word... and His word says in Psalm 139: “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.” This tells me that GOD AND HIS WORD are synonymous , and no matter where we go he is there, then this says that we are constantly surrounded with his presence therefore we are constantly surrounded with HIS WORD!!!
Surround Sound is a place in which you can come to receive and hear from God; to be surrounded by His word, and learn of him...
The definition of Surround Sound is: to be a part or a member of the group of people that desires to HEAR from all directions the voice and word of GOD!
