SALT (Student Action Leadership Team) works to develop, train, and prepare youth of ages 12 to 26 for ministry thru hands on training methods. SALT specializes in leadership training by allowing young people to schedule and minister in areas such as Vacation Bible School, Kids Ministry, and Leadership Conferences. Their ministry is displayed in various activities, such as, puppets, drama, action songs, and Biblical and life lessons as they work with children and peers alike. This ministry obviously takes dedication and commitment; combine that with prayer and studying of God’s Word and you get responsible, trustworthy, faithful, and amazing young adults for years to come. SALT is a life changing ministry; not just for the people in it, but for every person that comes in contact with it.
Laura Polk:
"I was recently able to talk to my niece about Jesus dying on the cross for us. Some people may not think it’s a big deal to talk to one child about God but SALT has really helped me to know how to talk to people - not just kids - about God in a way that I’ve never before been able to do before."
Tsionah Novick:
"Simply put – SALT has changed my life. But since there isn’t much simple about SALT I’ll add a few more sentences. SALT has helped me to realize that I can be apart of ministry today - I don’t have to wait 5 or 10 years but God desires to use me now. SALT has taught me so much about leadership. I feel like I’m finally apart of a group of young people who have the same passion to be used as I do – this is something that you don’t find often. SALT is so much more than ministry to children or to young people. SALT is like an entrance ramp into the ministry that God is calling you to. So I grasp hold of SALT because the sacrifice of time and energy is more than worth it. The reward is far more than the effort."
Rephaelen Samuel:
"This Student Action Leadership Team has not only given me the opportunity to be trained and learn skills with which to do a children’s ministry but it has cultivated what the Lord planted in my life and I have grown and progressed to levels higher than where I used to be. It has not only taught me how to pray right but has enabled me to overcome life’s struggles with the word of God. In every meeting and practice there are not just concepts to grasp but life lessons to learn that we can apply daily. Does it require much? Of course, it does. It takes prayer, effort both mentally and physically. It takes time, commitment, drive and passion. So what does S.A.L.T mean to me? It means everything because it has contributed immensely to who I am today."
Asher Novick:
"SALT to me is the greatest organization and ministry I have ever been a part of. The main reason is because it uses young people, like me, in ways we have never been used before. Its out-of-the-box thinking is what makes it great. It means so much to me and has taught me more than just leadership. It has taught me to listen to God’s voice, how to pray for other people, and so many other extremely important things."
Draylin Young:
"SALT has opened a lot of new ways to minister to children. If you want to be a leader or learn to lead I would advise anyone to join the SALT. It has strengthened my walk with Jesus and changed my life in a positive way since I have joined."
Sarah Wilson:
"When I joined SALT, I did it only because I love to work with kids. But SALT is now so much more to me that that. It has changed my life and continues to do so. Thanks to SALT, I now have a walk with God that I wouldn’t have been able to imagine just a short time ago. SALT has changed my life!"
