The Word of God is the most important offensive weapon we are given (see Galatians 6) and so few people are correctly equipped to use it. A weapon in the hand of the unlearned is dangerous, but a weapon in the hand of skilled user cannot only protect against the wiles of the devil, but also storm the gates of hell.

Senior Bible Quizzing is a program offered by the United Pentecostal Church International to equip today’s young people with the Word of God. Over a period of 6 months, Bible Quizzers memorize a selected 500+ verse study of the Bible. Each month they compete with other churches in the organization at various locations around the state and country. The double elimination tournaments allow a quizzer the chance to answer questions about the material they have learned, contest an answer or question they feel is incorrect and fellowship with other quizzers. At the end of the season, the top teams from each district compete at the National Level to become the North American Bible Quiz Champion.

However, the trophies won are trivial compared to the knowledge gained in the journey. The knowledge gained by memorizing the Word of God can dispel any argument an unbeliever might present, while solidifying the unshakeable foundation started in the life of the young person. The daily study and memorization provides the knowledge required for a healthy walk with the Lord.
